5 Actions for Greater Enterprise IT Resilience — HFT Learnings

Our Hunt for Talent series highlights human challenges that arise in reaction to a crisis. Our last commentary focused on overall enterprise resilience. Today’s posts focus on simple preparatory actions that IT can take to increase resilience when disruptions such as cybersecurity breaches, weather and or other disasters occur.

For information technology, these specific issues need definition:

  1. Who are the key managers that need to be informed, and will then make decisions.

  2. Identify key tasks and who makes the decisions (like shutting down the network).

  3. Identify key decisions and who makes the decisions together (like going to the backup data center)

  4. Setup and test the alternate communications paths (online and offline)

  5. Setup responsibilities for communications with all outside parties
