In our last blog, we asked if your Robot could see straight. Today we're going to talk about some security and access control issues that can trip up Enterprise IT if they are called in to manage Plant and Engineering facilities in a hurry.
Technicians/maintenance staff passwords aren’t backed up.
Online passwords to equipment and technical support aren’t backed up.
Operator passwords on the factory floor aren’ backed up
Supervisor keys (frequent in retail too), or cards, aren’t found
Access controls for outside maintenance staff are now invalid (people no longer working), or timed out
Update/renewal schedules aren’t being done
Access logs and monitoring isn’t being done as plant and facility access controls need tending.
Engineering configuration controls access isn’t being managed
If Enterprise IT must step in, even missing a few of these items can stop a plant from operating. That gets expensive fast.
