Post 12 Transforming your business — Things move forward

Updated: Aug 16, 2023

Jim learned from his overseas manufacturer that production was not going smoothly. Adam and Susan were struggling with how to market and sell without channel conflict. Though there were problems, the business was progressing and everyone was optimistic.

Jim was worried about his manufacturer’s problems. After two weeks of concerning calls the manufacturer had resolved the problem. Production was moving forward. They could expect their shipment within a month.

Adam and Susan came up with a few ideas for sales and marketing. Susan proposed a social media campaign. Adam suggested attending a couple of trade shows. He also suggested advertising in trade publications to promote their show attendance. These shows attracted both consumers and retailers.

Jim responded warmly to all the ideas but suggested that they wait until they had fulfilled the distributor’s order. “Let’s work in concert with our distributor.”

The big retailer who had promised to order had not come through yet.

It seemed that everything was moving forward. Jim, Adam, and Susan optimistically enthused that before long the company would be able to hire them full time. – “Man plans. God laughs”
