Post 16 -Transforming your business — Search for new offerings

The little company lost much of its retail sales due to COVID19 related closures and retail traffic reductions. The team scrambled to change their website from a nice brochure to an online selling eCommerce success.

Jim asked Adam to help him choose a new vendor. They talked with direct marketing companies, digital ad agencies, and freelancers. Each category had its strengths and weaknesses.

After interviewing many companies, Jim and Adam settled on a vendor. They chose a vendor that focused on testing to reveal the best approach. That appealed to both Jim and Adam because they had talked to “experts” who didn’t seem to understand their new widget market well at all.


The vendor rapidly rolled out sophisticated on-line tests of different ads and offerings. Jim and Adam were happy to find out that selling bundles of widgets at different price points produced different results.


Now that the widget was selling, it was time to adapt fulfillment to the new sales model.
