Road to a Golden OS - Conclusions

This is the 6th and last post in EkaLore’s series about Dynamic India’s quest for a domestically created Mobile OS. Such a project is a notable endeavor, leveraging its combination of talent, resources, and unique cultural advantages (Multi-Lingual, Multi-Cultural).

As discussed in this series, this quest has foiled the efforts of giant Tech enterprises like Microsoft, HP, and others.

The lessons for a Dynamic India are:

o Any efforts to INDOS will take longer, cost more, and require more government intervention than generally believed

o INDOS is the solution to the past 20 years of marketspace issues – the future issues are worse (metaverse presence, direct neural interfaces, active translation, active agents, immersive communications, relationships, and transactional interactions)

o Efforts will require dedication of national-scale resources also sought by FDI and Private sector enterprises – does this crowd out any other investment, or can the educational and entrepreneurial environments be served too

o Global market penetration will require the ability to compete with colossal scale enterprises and will require Indian enterprises to have access to capital markets and spend investments outside of India

o Cooperating with foreign colossal-scale enterprises will be required to succeed as a Dynamic Indian enterprise – existing collaborations with Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, and others will be required – these will dilute returns while enabling actual market penetration in viable time periods
