A Template for Action

Previously, EkaLore published a piece - 5 Actions for Management to take (now that the war has started). Events are moving quickly, but we content that the five actions to take today are essentially timeless.

Each of the five actions is best addressed with five sub tasks

A. Identify the “who” – for communications the “who from” and “whom to” are important.

Project resources are “who”

Roles and people can be separate

B. Key on the “what” – needs to be communicated.

Projects have deliverables/results

Tangible or intangible – must be measurable ‘thing’

C. Understand “why” – what are the rules, policies, or contracts that drive needs to be done.

Discriminate conformance from compliance

“person to person” agreements can be more binding than paperwork

D. Understand “how” – the conflict zones, parties, and changes from before conflict to the now during a conflict will affect your enterprise – know the “how”.

Methods/Methodologies/Process/Protocols

Discriminate causes, effects, and collateral

E. Pick “when” – not everything will be complete immediately. Decide when results are needed and be prepared to change as learning happens.
