Dynamic India - Spoken Word 4

This is the fourth in EkaLore’s multi-part series, the Spoken Word. It covers the opportunities for India to leverage its multi-lingual, multi-cultural society in the development of application software.

The technical implementations for voice input, voice output, and related processing functions can be complex if they are to incorporate the flexibility and functions wanted by computer users. The analysis to break down the likely functions needed across many different language and cultural combinations can make the problem even more difficult for the designer (and easier for some computer users when completed). Most implementations will grow in sophistication and complexity over time as the actual usage by people feeds back to the design and updating teams during the useful life of the computer application software.

The Spoken Word series’ next post will complete the series and discussion of Dynamic India’s opportunity to supply localized applications for international markets. When it’s posted, you will find it at www.ekalore.com/india-business
