Post 24 – More pressure from the Regulators

In our last post, HR and the CIO discussed a potential new requirement and decided that it was a “nice to have” vs. a “must-have.”

The day after the CIO and the HR VP discussed a potential new requirement for their hire, the CEO and the General Counsel discussed something more dire.

The General Counsel said “Here is an official notice from a government authority. They’re opening a case on this breach.”

“That means?”

The General Counsel replied, “That means that we’re going to be investigated at a far deeper level than I anticipated. How’s the CIO’s search and plan coming along? Showing that we’re moving ahead can’t hurt.”

The CEO asked if this was going to come to a head before the board meeting next week. The General Counsel didn’t think so.

As soon as the General Counsel left, she texted Millie. She needed some advice.

The focus on the CIO’s search intensifies. The CEO looks for some advice.
