In our last post, the HR VP explains that without raising pay and benefits, they’re not likely to get results. The CIO promises to cut budget to allow for the new position.
The HR VP emailed the team lead and explained that budget had been freed up. The new salary range would be increased to above the average Glassdoor estimate for this position.
The team lead was delighted. She immediately called the three remaining vendors and told them the news. They were excited, but they tempered their excitement by explaining that they had fewer people working on the search. Their teams were independent commission-only recruiters. Searches like these that were either underpaid or were looking for skills that didn’t exist got dropped in favor of easier-to-fill positions.
The team lead thanked them and asked to be updated as soon as they found reasonable candidates.
More money is a great incentive for the recruiters to pay more attention to the process. Now let’s see if they get results.
