In our last post, the General Counsel brought up ransomware as an issue that needed to be addressed with the new hire. The CIO pushed back but was told to follow up by the CEO.
The CEO saw the local paper’s article during breakfast. She choked when she read that staff members were calling progress “glacial” and the search for a new Security Team Architect to be “Dead in the water”. Although she’d gotten good news from the CIO earlier, this type of news could sink her. It was time to bring pressure to bear on the problem.
One good wack deserves another. The CIO is about to get more unwanted attention.
