Post 38. The Trusted Advisor’s Perspective


Millie visited the CEO to prep for the board meeting. The meeting was 48 hours away. She asked the CEO how the search was coming.


“The CIO is making progress but he’s not there yet. I’m not sure he’s completely focused on the right things.”


Millie sounded concerned. “He’s gotten the message, I’m not sure he actually heard it. What are you going to do?”


“Well, I’m not going to take the blame.”


Millie responded, “That’s the right answer! Don’t sugarcoat it, the Board will want to hear that you are taking decisive action.”
