Post 46 - Finishing Touches

In our previous post, the new hire was welcomed to his new position, and the CIO was dismissed from his.

Millie brought a little bottle of champagne to the CEO’s office on a Friday afternoon.

She congratulated the CEO on surviving the breach. The board loved her presentation. They completely understood the change up the organization and supported it.

The CEO smiled, “I brought in a consultant to talk with me about organizational structure, and it just makes sense to eliminate the CIO position. I elevated one of the other long-time IT execs to VP of IT, and now we’re announcing that our new hire is to be promoted to CISO. The position doesn’t report to me, but it provides the level of status (and visibility) that security deserves.

You were invaluable Millie. I can’t thank you enough.”

Millie opened up the little bottle of champagne and poured two plastic cups of champagne. “To your success”
