The Internet Just Cut Your Profits

Governments globally are warning enterprises about conflicts, criminals, and rogue enterprises willing to invade computer systems, stomp networks, and sow chaos. The Internet is now a critical resource for tiny to colossal enterprises. Keeping the Internet running will reduce profits.

What to do:

1) Recognize enterprise-level vulnerabilities will only be moderated by spending money. Enterprises will choose talent, gadgets, or sophisticated features – all costing money.

2) Communicate to stakeholders their roles and responsibilities in keeping the Internet convenient – or see more costs imposed on the enterprise (even if a government body) from the missing mercy of the marketplace.

3) Identify the talent level really needed for the enterprise to install, train, and execute on the communications, compute, and operational functions necessary for Internet-based operations. Whether tiny or colossal, the talent is as essential as doing accounting or signing a check for the enterprise.
