Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Updated: Aug 16, 2023

Jim, Sharon, and Adam had completed their journey – They got together on this warm summer evening to consider their experiences with the company. Everyone had their vaccinations, and for the first time in a long time, they were together again. Jim had asked them to reflect on the past couple of years.

After some small talk, Jim started to talk about the business from his perspective.” It was exciting, but it seemed like there was too much to do and too little time to do it. Cutting through the clutter was a continual challenge. What helped us succeed was simplifying the decision process. “

Sharon asked Jim to clarify what he meant by the decision process.

Jim replied “It’s simple we had a lot of situations where there were three choices. I kept eliminating one of the choices. When retail collapsed last March, I could have liquidated the business, I could have fixed it, or I could have waited to see if retail came back in a few months. I decided to keep the business going, I eliminated the option of killing it.
