"Turning dreams into reality "
Jim’s widget prototypes had attracted a couple of big distributors. He’d nailed down manufacturers that could produce his product at a reasonable price. It was time to make a deal.
Not only had the two big distributors come by the booth, but Jim and Adam had roamed the floor and talked with other smaller distributors. A few resellers showed interest, but Jim didn’t want to deal with hundreds if not thousands of retailers. He promised he would inform them once they had a distributor.
Adam followed up with the distributors. The small distributors were open to talking but they offered no support or outreach to retailers. And the smaller distributors wanted promotional money. One large distributor maintained their interest but wasn’t available for a meeting. The other big distributor lost interest after the show.
A couple of months later a big distributor called Jim. The exec said that he wanted to negotiate a deal. He offered a couple of dates two months out. Jim and his small team were excited.
